Graybar - Harris & Roome Lighting

Your Total Concept Lighting Specialists

In 1987, Harris & Roome Supply added a professionally staffed Lighting Division to serve customers and provide branch support.  The Lighting Division has highly trained Lighting Specialists in Halifax, NS and Saint John, NB providing sales coverage in all four Atlantic Provinces.

The Lighting Division offers a wealth of technical information and support.  Lighting Specialists work closely with contractors, architects, interior designers, engineers, developers and property managers to implement practical lighting solutions using the latest lighting layout and energy payback calculation software.  Harris & Roome’s established relationships with leading lighting manufacturers in North America and abroad give the division the expertise and resources to solve any lighting challenge - conventional, unconventional, big or small.

All 18 stocking locations carry a wide range of quality lighting commodity and specialized products.  This includes everyday incandescent, florescent, HID lamps, ballasts and fixtures, high tech ballasts and environmentally friendly lamps, explosion proof and emergency lighting, utility and high performance roadway luminaries, architectural forms and the latest in dimming and control systems both single control and building management system types.

The Lighting Division offers product seminars and training to keep customers educated on the latest product advancements, code changes and environmental regulations.  Harris & Roome and industry specialists conduct these sessions in local branches on an ongoing basis and in offsite locations as required.

New lighting technologies are emerging on a regular basis.  There is more self-diagnostic equipment available, the science of LED is progressing at a rapid rate and products with longer life using less energy are reducing maintenance and operating costs.

Advancements in lamp and ballast technologies are changing with fixture design focusing on environmental concerns and providing more flexibility in the work place.  Future environmental legislation as well as new energy guidelines will continue to challenge the lighting industry in the years to come.  New challenges equals change - Harris & Roome’s Lighting Division is committed to moving forward with the new lighting world as it emerges.
