Harris & Roome's Automation Division has 4 locations to service the Atlantic region: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, St. John's, Newfoundland, Saint John, New Brunswick and Bathurst, New Brunswick. The Automation Division has factory-trained automation specialists, experts in the latest automation technologies including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Variable Frequency Drives, Motion Control, Process Management (Batch), Rockwell Software, Power Energy Management Solutions (PEMS) and Global Manufacturing Solutions (GMS).
Central automation inventories are held at all four automation locations that support each of the 18 supply locations with a broad range of industrial/automation products. Central automation inventory can be shipped to any branch or ship location within 24 hours. This includes over a half-million dollar core stock of PLC's, PLC I/O, AC Drives and related test equipment, thermal scanning devices, Allen-Bradley safety products, presence sensing, smart motor controllers (soft starters), push buttons, motor protection devices and Nema/IEC starters in combination and non-combination styles. Automation stock is further supported by a broad industrial inventory of Hoffman Nema type 12 enclosures, 4X (small to large), Pilgrim Tray (aluminum and steel from 6 inch to 24 inch) and Teck Cable (14/4 to 3C500 MCM).
The Automation Division offers ongoing technical seminars and training courses on the latest industrial technologies. Harris & Roome and Rockwell Allen-Bradley Specialists from both local and national offices are available for factory approved on-site/off-site customer training. The Automation Controls Division in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia has a 1,600 square foot training center equipped with the latest assemblies of Rockwell automation technology and processing equipment, including complete Allen-Bradley teaching/work stations. Branch locations are also equipped with classrooms allowing local cost-effective training when required.
